What is the Hagoromo Festival about?

The Hagoromo Festival introduces the history and culture of Miho no Matsubara, a place closely associated with the Hagoromo legend. It also honors Madame Hélène Giuglaris, a French dancer who devoted herself to performing the Noh play “Hagoromo” in France.

The festival features the Miho Hagoromo Takigi Noh, including the Noh play “Hagoromo” and other Noh and Kyogen performances, as well as Miho Children’s Noh Theatre, the Shizuoka Miho Hagoromo Singing Troupe, and the Madame Hélène Commemoration Ceremony.

The 43rd Hagoromo Festival for fiscal year 2026 will be held on Saturday, October 10, 2026, at Shizuoka City Shimizu Cultural Hall MARINART, regardless of weather.

Miho Children’s Noh Theatre / Shizuoka Miho Hagoromo Singing Troupe: 13:00–14:00

Madame Hélène Commemoration Ceremony: 14:00–14:30

Miho Hagoromo Takigi Noh: 15:30–18:30 approx.Doors open at 15:00ly 18:30 (Doors open at 15:00)

There is no dedicated parking lot for general visitors at the Shizuoka City Shimizu Cultural Center Marinart.

We recommend using public transportation to get here.

If you are coming by car, please use the adjacent Shimizu Station East Exit Parking Lot or other paid parking lots around the venue.

*Please allow ample time for your visit as parking spaces are limited.

If you are coming by train

Approximately 3 minutes on foot from the Minato Exit (East Exit) of JR Shimizu Station.

Approximately 10 minutes on foot from Shin-Shimizu Station on the Shizuoka Railway.

If you are coming by car

Approximately 10 minutes by car from Shimizu Interchange on the Tomei Expressway.

There is no dedicated parking lot for general visitors at the venue. Please use the nearby paid parking lots.

Miho Children’s Noh Theatre, the Shizuoka Miho Hagoromo Singing Troupe, and the Madame Hélène Commemoration Ceremony are scheduled to be free to view.

For Miho Hagoromo Takigi Noh, tickets are scheduled to go on sale from 10:00 on August 1, 2026.
