Miho Hagoromo Takigi Noh
Miho no Matsubara is a component of a World Cultural Heritage site and is known as the birthplace of the Hagoromo legend.
Amidst the lush greenery of pine trees, the sea breeze of Suruga Bay, and the view of Mount Fuji, the tale of the celestial maiden has been passed down through the ages.
The "Miho Hagoromo Takigi Noh" is a performance that symbolizes the Hagoromo Festival, featuring the Noh play "Hagoromo," which is deeply connected to the legend, as well as other Noh and Kyogen plays that are presented with a unique twist each year.
The prayers, dances, words, and silence that have been passed down through generations.

Tickets are scheduled to go on sale from 10:00 AM on August 1, 2026 at Ticket Pia (P-code: 543-884). Tickets will also be available for purchase on the day of the performance at the foyer of the main hall of the Shimizu Cultural Center Marinart in Shizuoka City.

Kyogen “Hi no Sake”
(Sake Through a Trough)
While their master is away, Taro Kaja and Jiro Kaja are left in charge of guarding the rice storehouse and sake brewery.
However, the two, both heavy drinkers, couldn't resist and secretly began drinking sake by placing a trough between the two separate storehouses.
I mustn't get caught, but I want to drink.
The exchange between the two gradually generates a lot of laughter.
This Kyogen play, with its delightful and heartwarming interactions surrounding alcohol, is easy to enjoy even for first-timers.
Noh “Sesshoseki Hakuto”
Sesshōseki Shirogashira
A terrifying stone located in the plains of Nasuno, said to take the life of anyone who approaches it.
The traveling high-ranking monk, Genno, hears the story of the fox spirit that resides in the stone.
A fox spirit who once approached the emperor as the unparalleled beauty Tamamo-no-Mae, attempting to cause chaos in the country.
Even after being defeated, its obsession remained, in the form of stone.
A spirit of a fox spirit that appears through prayer.
This is a powerful Noh play where beauty, terror, and salvation intersect.
Noh “Hagoromo Wago no Mai”
Hagoromo Wagou no Mai
On a peaceful spring morning, after finishing his fishing, the fisherman Hakuryu finds a beautiful garment hanging from a pine branch.
It was the celestial maiden's feathered robe, essential for her to return to heaven.
The celestial maiden wishes to have her feathered robe returned.
Hakuryu longs to catch a glimpse of that dance.
Eventually, the celestial maiden, clad in a feathered robe, performs a graceful dance, praising the spring scenery of Miho no Matsubara.
Miho is a place where it is said that a celestial maiden descended to earth.
The stories embodied in the wind blowing through the pine trees are brought to life in the serene dance of the Noh play "Hagoromo" (The Feather Robe).
Enjoy this ethereal moment where the heavens and the human world intersect.
